A.B. Lord Fellowship in Oral Tradition
The Center for Studies in Oral Tradition is pleased to announce the first recipient of the A.B. Lord Fellowship in Oral Tradition, Ms. Agnieszka Matkowska, who is pursuing her doctorate in Linguistics at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. Ms. Matkowska holds both an M.A. in Polish Philology and an M.A. in Ethnolinguistics, and has been awarded scholarships from the East-Siberian University of Technology in Ulan-Ude and the Wladyslaw Kuraszkiewicz Fund, among other institutions. She is presently writing a dissertation entitled "Variation Limits in Oral Tradition Based on the Baikal Legends," a Buryat-Mongol oral tradition in the Irkutsk region of Russia.
