The first in a series of webcast lectures and seminars was broadcast live over the Internet by the International Society for Studies in Oral Tradition on October 10, 2011. Dr. Chao Gejin conducted a seminar entitled Oral Epic Traditions in China: Diversity, Dynamics, and Decline of Living Heritage. Dr. Chao is the Director of the Institute for Ethnic Literatures at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing. The live webcast was viewed by ISSOT members and interested parties in thirteen countries around the world.
